What we do

The services below are the same ones printed down the side of our letterhead. We have done each of them for thirty years.

Interior and exterior painting

Painting is where we started, and it is still the core of the company. We prepare surfaces properly, use the right coating for the room or the weather, and leave the site clean. We also hold yearly maintenance contracts for buildings that need to look right all year.

Plaster, tile, carpentry and cabinetry

Interior work is fine work. We plaster and skim walls, hang wallpaper, set tile and ceramic, and build and fit carpentry and cabinets so that a renovated room reads as if it had always been that way.

Concrete construction

Flatwork and small structures: driveways, walls, patios and porches, sidewalks and steps, and catch basins. Formed, poured and finished by our own crew.

Brick and limestone facade of a federal office building in Washington, DC

We started in 1988 as Rodrico Painting, a painting crew working in Washington. As the jobs grew from paint to plaster, drywall, concrete and carpentry, the name changed to Marina Services, and then to Marina General Contractors, LLC.

Since then we have completed projects for the Pentagon, the State Department through GSA, the Navy Yard, Fort Myer, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation, the National Park Service, Johns Hopkins University, Howard University, the DC Housing Authority and many private owners.

We are a small company that grew up in this city. We compete for governmental, public and private contracts, and we keep the same standard on a corridor at Howard as on a porch in Takoma.
